Hi there,

I wanted to let you know about Kiva (www.Kiva.org), a non-profit that allows you to lend as little as $25 to a specific low-income entrepreneur across the globe.

You choose who to lend to – whether a baker in Afghanistan, a goat herder in Uganda, a farmer in Peru, a restaurateur in Cambodia, or a tailor in Iraq – and as they repay their loan, you get your money back.  It’s a powerful and sustainable way to empower someone right now to lift themselves out of poverty.

Check it out! www.Kiva.org

It was the least bit stunning to me when I ran across the Google Street View Trike… Very google of you, Google. Nonetheless we should all be prepared to visit Google Maps for pretty much everything. I must say this would be useful for visitors of the Theme Park or Public Area but most people would be using it to go exploring on there desktop back at home where we’ve been staying for the past few years…

US Street View Special Collections Poll

We’re working hard to bring Street View to new places, but some interesting areas, like pedestrian malls and trails, cannot be reached by car. That’s why we’ve created the Street View trike; a mechanical masterpiece made of 3 bicycle wheels, a mounted Street View camera, and a very athletic cyclist.

Apparently they’re open to user feedback so if you would like to see a certain place on Google Maps not already there, just tell almighty Google.

Tell us where to ride!

The Street View trike has already collected some imagery, but now we’re accepting your suggestions for where to send it next in the United States. Send us your most inspired suggestions for the places you really want to see featured in Street View.

Check out Google’s samples of where the Street View Trike can go that the Google Cars cannot.

To get an idea of the type of imagery our trike can capture, you can explore locations recently added to Street View:

LEGOLAND California

San Diego State University

Santa Monica Pier

Monterey Bay Bike Trail

We will be accepting suggestions for US locations until Wednesday October 28, 2009. The public will then be able to cast their final votes and choose the top locations we’ll add to Street View.

One more thing, I took a print screen of this while browsing through Legoland:
(funny).

guy on cellphone in legoland - google maps

I found this highly amusing and thought I’d share.

Mark Lucovsky is a software developer who was working for Microsoft. He was a part of the team that designed/built Windows NT.

Steve Ballmer is the CEO of Microsoft and has been since 2000. Ballmer is also the second person to become a billionaire in US Dollars from stock options as an employee of a corporation. Ballmer was ranked the 43rd richest person in Forbes 2008 World’s Richest People (with Warren Buffet being the richest).

Eric Schmidt is currently an engineer and CEO of Google. Schmidt previously worked for Sun Microsystems and was the CEO of Novell. Schmidt was also of the Board of Directors of Apple.

Lucovsky stated Ballmer, after informing him that he was leaving Microsoft for Google, picked up a chair and threw it across the room, hitting a table in his office. Lucovsky stated Ballmer said: “Fucking Eric Schmidt is a fucking pussy. I’m going to fucking bury that guy, I have done it before, and I will do it again. I’m going to fucking kill Google,” then continued on trying to persuade Lucovsky to stay at Microsoft. Ballmer has described this as a “gross exaggeration of what actually took place.”

Our life has evovled into a very fast-paced timeline and we have to find ways to stay on top of things as it continues to evolve. If you can remember a few of these shortcuts, they can really help you stay on track of things. Here’s a few shortcuts/tricks that you can do from the address bar in any browser to help make life easier:

Capture a screenshot:

Take a quick screenshot of the current webpage you’re browsing by adding aviary.com/ in front of http://:   . (e.g. I’m browsing http://www.gmail.com, so I just turn the URL into aviary.com/http://www.gmail.com and Aviary captures a screenshot of the page!)

Download YouTube videos from YouTube.com:

While viewing a YouTube video, add pwn right in front of youtube.com and you can download the video in Flash or Quicktime file formats.

Download YouTube videos from ANY public web page:

When viewing a YouTube video on ANY public web page, add deturl.com right in front of http:// and you can download the video in Flash or Quicktime file formats.

Shorten a site address:

For quickly shortening a sites address, type bit.ly/ before the http:// of the URL and a short URL will be displayed on the next page for posting on a site or sending to a friend.

Share a web page:

This works great on your computer OR your mobile device, just add smub.it/ before the http:// part, and you’ll be given the option to share the page you were on with social sites or send the page by email.

Check out who owns a site:

You can easily find out who owns a site and even get their contact information by adding whois.domaintools.com/ before the http:// part of the URL. This also works for known IP addresses (e.g. “66.218.71.198″ belongs to Yahoo!)

Start sending stuff with your address bar today:

Although you must sign up beforehand, this can be a great and useful service that will allow you to send notes, hyperlinks and even images to your email directly from your browser’s address bar! Type futzme.com/username in the address bar, press space and then enter something you want to be sent to your email. When sending an image, Futz.me can even send it by text to your mobile phone if you like.

If you remember our issues with Dark Star LLC, we FINALLY got them resolved. I’ve taken off the old posts in exchange for the refund and free Ventrillo server hosting for Leo. If you would like to know what happened you can contact one of us but we’ve agreed to take the posts down.

I’m very impressed with this “spot!”

If you want to check it out, give it a listen!

Ok I know you can just go and get a blog on blogger for free, but the thing is, free blogging services just suck. They have ads and are pretty limited. This service will be $20 a year and will come with a custom theme that we design just for you! Additional fees will apply for a custom domain name and setup.

Well isn’t this exciting? I’ve updated our sites theme for the 5th time! I think we will be sticking with this latest one I’ve created as it looks pretty professional. What do you think?

Sick of all those stupid TinyURLs? Check out HUGEURL.COM

We had several palettes of concrete delivered to us… The contractor decided he didn’t want to even drive the forklift into the field. The field the Tower Site is in was ROCK HARD. The land hasn’t been touched there at all! A neighboring household said they drive their 18-wheeler into their pasture to turn it around while it’s raining. So the contractor came up with another excuse! The contractor then tried to say it was going to have to be dropped off right then and there – “Curb Side Delivery”. He said that’s all he was paid from Home Depot to do and that he’s only an individual and isn’t affiliated with Home Depot.

We were swamped with work… We had to manually load 504 eighty-pound bags of concrete truckload by truckload and take them to each hole. This put us back for a few hours. It was hard work but not near as hard as I thought it was going to be. I guess it wasn’t anymore than one good nights sleep won’t fix! I’m at work today, aren’t I? Oh, it’s only a few minor aches and mainly only in the arms.

Oh and as for that contractor… – Someone went Home Depot to see what the deal was and they said he WAS suppose to take it out into the field.
